- First, I'll start with what I liked about this book. The hard cover design and inside silhouettes on each page are very appealing and vintage-looking. Loved that part! That was it. I did not care for the content of the quotes. Many of the quotes are modern-day quotes, certainly not old west, as the book's title implies! Joan Rivers? Come on! Also, this book has some off-color content not suitable for placing out at a western party geared toward children, as was my intention. What to do with it now? I read it in a half hour. I can't gift it, because of off-color humor I don't want associated with me. The author certainly did not do his historical research! There would have been ample, authentic sources to compile a book such as this. That is what is so disappointing! Don't waste your money like I did!
